People who are homeless for three months create a cost.
- NHS = £4,298 per person
- Mental Health Services = £2,099
- Criminal Justice System = £11,991
It’s estimated that the annual cost to the government for each homeless person is circa £24-£30K per year.

Syndrome
In mental health and in other social struggles, revolving door syndrome refers to the tendency of clients to get better for a while, and then end up relapsing.
More and more people are at risk of homelessness every day.
Then there are the hidden homeless.
- Sofa surfers
- Living in unsafe or unsuitable accommodation
- Fleeing domestic violence
- Living with relatives or friends
- Experiencing violence and or harassment at their current address
